Highway Contracts Let By Cheyenne In July

State highway commission approved 15000 in contracts at meetings July 29 and 30 for completion within sixty days. Denver and Colorado were unable to bid. Montana also failed to attract bidders. Costs exceed figures from two years ago due to material and labor increases. Wyoming filed first condemnation suit in Washakie county against Milo Burke ranch for right of way under new law allowing immediate entry after service. Jackson's Hole Courier $2.00 a year.

Auto Burns Hupmobile Near Jackson Idaho Walls

A Hupmobile owned by B Green of Idaho Walls Idaho burned last Saturday afternoon near Jackson. The owner his wife and Mr and Mrs JH Hatfield were in the car when flames suddenly enveloped the engine. Despite efforts the vehicle was destroyed, with the fire likely starting from ignition spark or a short circuit.

Kelly Mercantile Co Changes Ownership and Leaders

On September 1, 2019 Kelly Mercantile Co will change hands with James Simpson and W. Henrie named new owners and managers. The pair, veteran figures in Jackson's Hole, plan a full general merchandise line and courteous service while continuing Spicer's trade under new partnership. Simpson's future plans remain unclear, but he will stay in the valley with his family at Kelly.

Death by Own Action in Wotan Bridge Inquest

In an inquest over Mrs. Robert Linde the coroner notes a death by her own action. Deputy Sheenbraneis and Heber Devoight describe scene at midnight near the Snake River bridge. Mrs. Linde, aged about thirty, was found by her husband who worked nearby. The rope break ended her life, health issues cited as underlying strain. Body taken to Ashton for burial.

The moving picture show will end after Saturday night August 16. Patronage declined over recent weeks, not justifying continuation. The cinema and illustrated news were considered standard elsewhere, but the car faculty failed to realize their value locally.
