Washington reports from the census bureau that 7,384,871 bales of cotton grown in 1915 had been ginned before November 1. This compares with 9,826,912 last year and 8,830,396 in 1913, with the ten year average at 7,954,534. Ginnings before November 1 by state are listed.

Third Prize in Corn Club Work at State Fair
Butts County boys earned third prize in the corn club contest at the state fair with fifty five enrolled and 44.4 bushels average cost 26.5 cents. Wayne County took first and Coffee County second. Bernard Gaston won first prize in the boys corn club with 141.8 bushels and a $66.48 profit, earning a $50 college scholarship. Ellsworth Watkins won the state championship with 166.69 bushels at 17 cents per bushel and claimed $75 state prize and a $250 Hastings scholarship. Butts County won both the boys corn club and state fair prizes, and the group eyes the Atlanta Show with strong prospects.
