State College adds two new courses to boost Georgia agriculture
Athens Ga Two new courses marketing and agricultural economics and farm management were created by the State College of Agriculture trustees to raise Georgia products’ profile and improve farm business. A special legislature appropriation will be sought. The college reports high demand for agricultural and home economics agents, a growing enrollment, strong asset values, and substantial returns on state maintenance funds.

Union Pacific Railroad plans 43 million dollar outlay this year for upgrades. Ten point five million set aside for 78 freight engines and fifteen thousand freight cars per company announcement from general offices.

Authorities say the average hen eats about 70 pounds of feed yearly. A flock of 100 hens would consume 7,000 pounds, about 125 bushels corn or 116 bushels wheat or 219 bushels oats. Variety in feed, minerals, water, and home-made mixes are discussed, with plans to plant sunflowers and other crops. A Poultry Association meeting is urged next Saturday at 2:30, led by H. G. Wiley, County Agent. Also noted are results on cotton plant spacing.
