Funeral services for J. G. Thompson in Woodberry
Mr. J G Thompson aged 61 died Friday afternoon at his Woodberry home from acute indigestion. Funeral held Saturday afternoon with burial in Jackson cemetery beside his wife. He was a native of Butts county, long in Jackson business, hotel operator, and resident of Woodberry for 15 years. Survived by children Mrs W E Smith and G C Thompson of Manchester, Mrs Tim Sutton of Woodberry, and Miss Alice Thompson of Atlanta. wife Logue Thompson preceded him in death.

Co operative Cotton Plan Makes Progress
Under new leadership 4100 Georgian farmers join a cooperative cotton marketing plan modeled after the Southwest Georgia Watermelon Growers and Florida California Fruit Exchanges. The Sapiro system used in six Southern states has broad support with over 125000 farmers listed elsewhere and more than 2100000 bales signed for pooling. About 90000 bales are already committed to a five year iron clad contract approved by the Georgia legislature and affirmed by the Federal Trade Commission and state supreme courts. April 1 set as start date.
