South Carolina man finds dairying pays big returns
E A Spencer of Cheraw S C sold 600000 dollars worth of cream from six cows in a year ending February 14. March butter fat from eight cows covered the feed bill, with one cow alone producing 60.4 pounds of butter fat at 50 cents a pound. Spencer credits home grown seed a good grade herd and attentive care, with daily milk records and selective breeding to Guernsey bulls for future gains.
