Lovett Fletcher, a long time Butts County leader active in education, church, and military affairs, becomes sanitarian for the county succeeding Walter Patillo. Offices in Butts County Health Center. Open 8:30 to 5 Monday through Friday. Fletcher joined July 1 after state training. He is a Georgia Tech Public Health Engineering graduate, WWII Major, National Guard member, elder in Jackson Presbyterian Church, former Board of Education member for 18 years, married to Katherine Harrington with three sons.

Rites For Wm Long Be Held Thursday
William Frank Long of Elovilla died after a heart seizure at Westbury Medical Care Home. A retired farmer and Jasper County native, he was a member of Sandy Creek Primitive Baptist church. Funeral Thursday at 2 from Fais ten Funeral Home chapel with burial in Flovilla cemetery. Survived by two daughters, two sons, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed.
