County fair plans with over $1000 in premiums proposed
A county fair association meeting is set for Saturday at 10 in the courthouse to discuss developing the fair and presenting reports from committees. Premiums totaling more than $1000 will be awarded across eight departments including Livestock Poultry Agricultural and Canning. Stock certificates will be issued upon subscription payments and the association has received a charter from Judge Wm. E. H. Searcy Jr. Local cooperation is urged to ensure a successful event.

Emma Whatley Dies at Home in Lafayette
Emma Whatley aged 50 died after months of illness at her West LaFayette home on Thursday morning. Funeral services were held that afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. N. A. White. Interment will be in Roswell Georgia Saturday morning. She is survived by two brothers R A Whatley and O W Whatley. Relatives in Butts county and Pepperton Cotton Mills connections noted in the notice.
