Insane Woman Found In Wilds Near Cairo
A wild woman roaming Ballard County woods near the Mississippi levee was captured with six dogs and a pony, taken to the county jail in the patrol wagon. Deputies Malham and Hazzard report she is in poor mental condition but appeared intelligent at times. She claimed to be a cantor and gave the name Hykell Nell, wearing men's trousers with a revolver and knife, and said her father was from New York and mother from Pennsylvania.
