Pepperton Mill Adds 50 Additional Horse Power

Georgia Power reports Pepperton Cotton Mill near Jackson has ordered a large quantity of fancy weave cloth. The plant will add fifty horsepower supplied by Central Georgia Power to run 100 jacquard looms day and night for a year long contract beginning around July 1.

Tax battle over big dam taxes in Georgia counties

Jasper and Butts counties clash over dam tax allocation for Central Georgia Power near Jackson. Jasper argues most dam property lies in Jasper and seeks five eighths of returns, while Butts resists. Carmichael Named to Georgia University Board of Visitors

Homer Carmichael a Jackson business and education figure joins five member Board of Visitors to the University of Georgia.
