Social Swarm of Atlanta Visits and Travelers

Incendiary Fire Kills Mules. Suspect Caught

A severe fire burned six mules and threatened a man’s leg, but he is now much better and progressing. The blaze was set by an incendiary, and the guilty party has been captured.

John R. Mayfield Dies in Atlanta Burial in Macedonia

John R. Mayfield died last Sunday at his Atlanta home from dropsy. His remains were brought to this city for burial at Macedonia Monday, with Rev. W. O. Sharp of Flovilla conducting. A native of Butts County he left several children.

Picnic Excursion to Macon Draws Large Crowd

A large crowd from Sunday schools and the city rode in six coaches at 9 20 am to a Thursday picnic in Macon. Children were in high glee over the approaching day and thoroughly enjoyed the outing with well filled baskets and happy hearts.

Confederate Memorial Day Observance Tells of Jackson And Butts County

On Memorial Day the people of Jackson and Butts County gathered at the Court House for a Confederate memory celebration. Judge Daniel of Griffin delivered a sublime address, praised the lost cause, and Col Willingham introduced him. Col Threat Moore added an eloquent tribute to mothers and veterans.
