Experiments in Paper Hosiery Move Toward Profit
The Clover reports experiments in making hosiery and gloves from paper yarns. Stockings may sell for three cents per pair, with light airy comfort in summer and finish resembling fabric goods. Yarn is created from paper twines, processed to add nap, then knitted and set in a potato starch and tallow bath for durability.
