Jackson readers hear of visitors from Jasper Henry and Forsyth and McDonough. Local business, groceries and insurance ads fill columns with Allen & Co. featured products, tobacco, coffee and flour. Community updates include births, deaths, land, and reminders to insure property and purchase goods locally.
The Argus received a pleasant call this week from J. W. Brooks of the Blood Balm Co of Atlanta. Brooks, a regular patron, placed a large order with Dr Crum and the medicine will be kept fresh at Dr Crum's drug store. Misses Goodall and Hitchins with Mr Brown and Col Hall returned Monday from Griffin after a Friday to Sunday visit hosted by Mrs Lee C Manley. The party enjoyed hospitable entertainments and social courtesies.
Grand jury in session ordered inquiry into the illness of Harrison Cawthon at Fincherville. Judge Carmichael hired Atlanta expert Dr. Campbell who verified a genuine smallpox case. Infected houses are guarded and the county provides vaccine points for rapid vaccination of residents.
The grave memorial by the McNeel Marble Co. rises as an artistic and imposing work. It showcases Georgia marble and Georgia skill advancing in prominence.
