A pleasant party visited Monticello on Wednesday for the unveiling of a Confederate Monument. The event featured a beautiful shaft and happy exercises, followed by an uneventful return in the afternoon. Members included Mrs. A. H. Smith Mrs. R. A. Franklin Mrs. J. B. Settle Mrs. J. J H Kelly mason at the dam was killed Tuesday by Tom Nichols manager of the Commissary on the Jasper side. Kelly, said to be drinking, tried to force others from the store and cornered Nichols, who shot him. Coroner's jury ruled justifiable homicide and Nichols was blameless. Kelly’s body sent to Canton Wednesday.
Registrars for Butts County authorize the registered voters list as correct and note failure of the Tax Collector to supply disqualified voters. They cannot purge or refer the list until the Executive Committee determines qualification before or after the April primary. April 7, 1910. J. A. McMichael.

Mrs. Pearl Stallworth Scruggs died Sunday after weeks of illness and burns from an accident in Athens. She had surgery in Atlanta hospitals, was survived by her parents in Atlanta and several siblings, and her remains were brought to Jackson for funeral services at the Kinard home, with interment in the city cemetery.
Mrs Johnston Robert Carmichael invites guests to the marriage of her daughter Bertha Carmichael to Thomas Jackson Dempsey Jr on Wednesday April 20 at nine o'clock At Home in Jackson Georgia. Bertha and Dempsey are described as prominent locals with ties to Nashville Ga and Jackson social circles.
Mrs. Mollie Jackson, daughter of Rev. John Goodman and a longtime Baptist member, died Saturday afternoon after a stroke and subsequent illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Baptist church with Dr. R. Van Deventer officiating. interment followed in the city cemetery.

The regular W C T U meeting is scheduled for next Friday the 15th at 4 o'clock. Home Mission Society members are especially urged to attend and all members should bring or send dues. A 25 cent contribution is requested from each member to cover the Georgia delegate to the World's convention in England in June, with Mrs. Armor to represent Georgia.

Captain George Mallett arranges a mock divorce trial at the Auditorium around May 1 for Rifles benefit. Judge B P Bailey presides with Cols Moore Willingham Redman and Watkins as attorneys. Jurors will be locals and a rich time is anticipated. Exact date to be announced later.
