Mr Jim Whitehurst died of pneumonia on November 10 and was buried in Old Salem Cemetery in a large crowd. A girl was born November 12 to Mr and Mrs Frank Mosley. Farmers in the area sowing wheat. Alvie Bullard of Short, Miss RFD No 1 started school at Cross Roads near Cole's Mill. Marion Robinson of Short, Miss RFD No 1 plans a new residence on a hill south of Scruggs.
