George Glover was arrested on suspicion but later released after the affidavit was withdrawn and the case dropped. A missing girl Mamie Perry was found with a woman named Mrs Bridges near town. the girl was returned to her mother in Tuscumbia. Milton Candler died at his Decatur home aged 72. he served in Congress and the Alabama state senate during Reconstruction.
