Mrs Kennedy of rural route 2 two and one half miles west of Iuka lost her residence to fire on Wednesday afternoon last week. Mr Kennedy was away at work about a mile away and only young children were at home. Origin of the blaze unknown. Contents lost totaling about two thirds of the value, a heavy burden on the hardworking family.
Card of Thanks expresses gratitude to friends who aided during the illness and death of a mother and grandmother. The message asks for God’s presence in their prayers and signs off by J. D. In a personal letter from Stamford Texas dated March 2 1920 Lora Gienn writes of her western tour from Suga to Uncle Glenn in Jones County. She describes malaria illness early on improved by Texas air, the dry windy climate, and high plains scenery from Tuxido to cap rock. The trip covers 400 miles through multiple counties with visits to relatives, towns like Hamlin and Snyder, canyon scenery, and concrete bridges. She plans to continue to Wichita Falls Shreveport Jackson Mississippi and to visit family and civic sites.

George E Geise died Sunday afternoon at 5 30 at his brother Frank Geise home after a brief illness of Krights disease He was 78 and known in Colbert county for his generous life He was a Mason and buried Monday afternoon at Margerum with Masonic honors.
