Major Tongue River Land Deal Near Miles City

The Tongue river ranch, 20 000 acres near Miles City, controlled by an eastern capital syndicate, has been transferred to the Federal Investment Company of Indianapolis. Talks point to a price around 325 000 dollars with 1660 and 320 acre divisions under ditch. The deal aims to attract farmers to Custer county and spur immigration, with papers to be signed after eastward negotiations.

Trident Passenger Death Sparks Conductor Suit

William Hartop was put off Northern Pacific train No 5 at Trident because he could not pay his fare due to illness. He was found unconscious beside the track next morning and died in the hospital hours later. A conductor is accused of causing the death by mistaking him for drunk, claiming he acted within duty.
