An entertainment occasion at Holy Name Hall on Wednesday October 1928 features three reels of a motion picture titled Drusilla With a Milton. Frank Matony will sing popular vocal selections and a Catholic layman will give an address on motion pictures. Adults admitted for 25 cents with tickets at the rectory or door. children’s admission is 10 cents. a matinee for children is planned.
Northfield club members who attended the summer conference spoke on several topics from that September gathering. John Foote visited the city on Friday.
The Retail Affairs Committee announced a big fall event with cash prizes for Irvington and surrounding towns. Voters receive coupons with each dollar spent, ten votes per coupon, and prizes range from 25 to 500 dollars. The contest aims to boost participation across churches schools and fraternal groups. A separate Spiro Park inquiry continues with a Monday meeting of the Pierson appointees.

The New York Central Lines plan a large station improvement by lengthening the north and south bound platforms. Wood Mooring IX will be removed and replaced with concrete to provide better boarding and alighting facilities for all patrons.
Mr and Mrs William Terling of South H Street announce the marriage of Jeremiah J Merlihy of 3 Village to a bride from the Immaculate Conception church on Friday. The ceremony details are recorded in the society notice.
Ming A. Adele Morris of South has secured a position with the Washington Irving Trust in Tarrytown. The bank plans to be ready for business about October 1st.
The Fire Company met last evening and conducted routine business. Representatives from Westchester Lighting Company will announce the date of the meeting on the committee’s arrangements and the Schaefer Prone Had of Restoration will be discussed.
Diamond Lodge No 555 holds a town hall dance this evening with a large attendance expected. The meeting covers school board items, librarian appointment, and discussions on facilities for Manual Training and Night School programs.
Irvington Presbyterian marks its seventy fifth anniversary with a fitting ceremony in October. A reception and entertainment will be held, former pastors attend, and three living clergymen will participate in services on October 14 including divine worship, memorial sermons, and the Lord’s Supper led by Dr. Irwin with visiting ministers.
The former owner Jewon planned many alterations which Mines on removal from Irvington prevented. The property adjoins Col. Dupont’s estate, where a large force cleans up around the area under Supt. Eli Jago. Workers, part of Calonet’s, are turning the site into one of the finest in the village. Miss Hall’s Seti will open soon.
The monthly Missionary meeting of the Women’s Association at the Presbyterian Church will be held at three. The Secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions will recount her trip visiting Presbyterian Foreign Mission Stations. Mrs Melzel will conduct the meeting.
The Women s Bowling Club organizes for an active season as cards circulate through secretary Mrs J Henry ton to confirm membership and opening dates.
The Parent-Teachers Association will host a meeting in the TELIA senior auditorium featuring several selections by Maria Flacher. The committee invites renewed dues and welcomes new members while Counselor George S. Kelly of West Sunnyside Lane is noted as owner of the Intest Sport Model of the Straight Elect Packard.
The annual event hosted by Robins Nest Entertainment will be held November 2 at Ardsley Swimming Club. Organizers invite locals to enjoy a community entertainment night featuring local talents and activities.
