Police to Check Speeders by Clock in Irvington
The Irvington Police Department will deploy an electric speed clock once delivered. Purchase was approved by the Board of Trustees on Monday night after Police Chief Roger A Fallon recommended it. Demonstrations on Broadway and other streets showed the device timing cars between two cables 68 feet apart to measure speed. The clock costs $465 and will be placed on Broadway and Main Street where speed limits are 30 and 20 miles per hour respectively.
