Montessori School to Add Irish Lass to Teaching Staff
Miss Donna Griffiths joins the Montessori School of Irvington as it opens September 15. A Clermont Our Lady’s School graduate in Wicklow Ireland, she earned the Montessori Diploma from the International Montessori Association after training at Sion Hill College and Trinity College Dublin. She formerly directed a Junior Group in Dublin and has taught at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Monkstown. Her background includes studies in English, multiple countries in Europe, and time in Rome, Paris and Brussels. Her youthful enthusiasm and love of children are highlighted.

About 100 relatives and friends attended. Mrs Bianchine is the former Josephine Morabito and Mr Bianchine is from the late Eugene Bianchine line, known in trucking circles.

Electrical Storm Knocks Power Across Irvington Village
A violent electrical storm struck Irvington early Saturday causing tree damage and widespread power disruption. Downed lines and debris blocked streets, half the village saw reduced power with TV images smaller than usual. Crews repaired a half mile of new cable by Sunday afternoon, restoring service to most homes, while telephone lines and the Convent in Elm Park suffered interruptions.

Hudson River debris removal would extend from New York harbor north to Troy dam. Connick Family Home After Hospital Stay
Eugene Connick Sr and his six year old son Eugene Jr and daughter Janet Ann 7 have returned home from Dobbs Ferry Hospital after more than a week of treatment for injuries from a car accident on Taxter Road while en route to vacation. The family at 108 East Sunnyside Lane was struck by another vehicle on Monday August 23. Janet Ann also injured but discharged.
