Irvington voters approve repeal of the Volstead Act by a wide margin with 639 wets to 31 drys as about 50 percent turnout. In the ninth district wets win and drys lose by a large margin, a result noted after late evening tabulation.
A visitation sermon is announced with the rector presenting the event. The rector welcomes all who wish to attend the service and participate in the firmatio presentation.
Police in Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry hunt for two bicycles reported missing Monday noon. The bikes, described as pat with red and white colors and a rear rack, were left in a driveway while residents dined. Patrolman Foley and Chief McCall pursue leads to identify suspects and recover the property.
Major General W. H. Kay of Camp Smith will act as master of ceremonies at Wester Memorial Day exercises. The event is held at Playland Rye in New York on May.

Police searched for two truck drivers who allegedly attacked two young women, then fled. Edwin Martin, quoted about Fordham quarters, and Ann Sullivan, 18, of Waltham reported the incident. Funeral services for Mrs Susan M Lonergan wife of the late Witty Lonergan were held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 9 30 this morning. The interment followed at Scophos Cemetery Hastings on Hudson. Surviving relatives include a brother Thomas and two stepdaughters Mary and Margaret Lonergan.
