Republicans Sweep On Tuesday Dickinson Wins By 135 Votes

Dickinson led Cumming by 135 votes as Republicans swept Tuesday elections. The charter vote carried by 31 and the overall tally set a record for this year. Voting ran from 6:25 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. amid orderly conditions with high turnout and decisive majorities across districts.

Police Benefit Show Draws Crowds in Irvington

Crowds are expected tonight for two screenings sponsored by the Irvington Police Department to aid the police fund. The free performances run at the Pirate-Color Sound studio on Astor Street with additional attractions and a color news reel. Over 1,000 tickets were sold, and local schools closed early to allow children to attend.

Village Control Returns to Republicans After Election

Gristedes to open meat department April first

Gristedes Brothers announce plans to add a meat department to their grocery in Tarrytown. The new shop will occupy the former Koenis Garage near the Washington Irving Trust Co Bank on North Broadway, becoming a combined grocery and meat market and claiming to be the largest in the area.
