Murphy Dies At 56 A Longtime Irvington Figure Passes
Thomas J. Murphy 56 a resident of 76 East Sunnyside Lane Irvington died suddenly at Phelps Memorial Hospital North Tarrytown. A requiem mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception North Broadway. He was brother of Irvington Postmaster William A Murphy and Edward Murphy head of Irving Construction Corp. Surviving are wife Louise Morley Murphy daughter Mary Ellen sister Ruth Goertler brothers Francis and Eugene. He served as second lieutenant in World War II and was employed by New York Telephone Co Service Department in New York City. The Irvington Recreation and Parks Department announces 1967-68 Park Entrance Permits available at Village Clerk Town Hall 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. permits required for all residents over 16 entering village parks. The fall event on October 7 will feature a souvenir Journal for guests, with patrons and benefactors listed. Public Hearing On Expressway Planned in Westchester
A public informational meeting on the nine mile river front expressway from the Tappan Zee Bridge to Crotonville and a four mile shorefront park in the Tarrytown Ossining area will be held at Ossining High School on Thursday June 22 at 8 p.m. State Public Works officials say this is informational only and a formal public hearing will follow after preliminary planning is complete.
