Giri Scouts were celebrated at a mid-winter rally with awards for advancement. Leaders and officers presided as scouts earned 102nd class and higher ranks, with special crests in crafts, lifesaving, and exploration. Exhibition of Votasraphe by Mesa S. Sheeler opens Tuesday in the Irvington Dubie Library foyer at Town Hall. The show features diverse subjects including familiar Trington residents, highlighting Sheeler’s distinctive personal perspective and technique. It runs until February 9.

William Thela of Yonkers pleaded guilty before Judge James J. Lyden to leaving the scene after striking a man on South Broad near Station Road on December 7. Thela received three hours in county prison, license revocation recommended but suspended for good behavior, and he paid hospital expenses for the injured man, Radcliff, while Hoy of Yonkers, charged as accessory, escaped punishment after mental health considerations. Irvington police were commended for their work. the incident involved a car with damage found near the Broadway Tavern.
The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis via its March of Dimes campaign seeks funds to support local chapter care for crippled children and nationwide research and emergency programs. It notes nine of ten families could lack funds without the charity and emphasizes broad inclusivity.
Irvington PTA presents a Saturday morning program at the High School Auditorium starting 10 30 A M with Little Lord Fauntleroy as the feature. Mickey Rooney and Freddie Bartholomew star in the world famous tale of an American boy who goes to England to live with his grandfather. Admission is 15 cents for all seats. Sunnyside Savings and Loan Association broadened its offerings at the annual meeting to include FHA guaranteed home improvement and modernization loans. Roy were named or reappointed to key posts.
Owen Reilly of Is Notensue hour Street, the oldest factory employee of the Lord and Burnham Division, died suddenly at Dobbs Ferry Hospital. He had worked Tuesday, was moved to the hospital for an operation, but died before completion. Requiem mass to be said at Immaculate Conception Church. Survived by four sons Eugene Harold, Joseph, Robert, and Eamon. two grandsons. two brothers Michael and James.
The Irvington silage Kepmoncan committee and the advisors committee will meet Wednesday evening at the call of Mrs. Charlotte Miller chairman to discuss candidates for the March village elections. Three vacan cies exist at the end of April 8 when the term of Trustees Frederic Kesher ends.
