Riverdale Priest Dies Of Heart Attack After Basketball Game

Rev. Father Patrick Joseph Crotty aged 35, assistant pastor at St. Margaret’s Riverdale and coach of the school basketball team, died after a heart attack during a game against Irvington Catholic at the high school gym. He complained of chest pain near the end of the contest which the Big Five won 50 to 48. He left the gym with Rev. Father Daley and his condition worsened, leading to his death on arrival home. Gorey Installed as Westchester VFW Head in Irvington

Gorey was installed as the new VFW head for Westchester County before a large crowd in Irvington Town Hall. State and county officers were installed, with Commander Gorey praised by Mayor Herbert Dickinson and others for the honor and his leadership, as veterans paid tribute and a social hour followed the ceremony.

Woman Struck by Smith Car Here Leaves Unconscious

Margaret V Livingston 25, servant at Millicent Lewis home Harriman Road, remains in critical condition after being struck by a car driven by J. Smith near Station Road. Police report indicate road lighting poor at the time, she crossed near a poorly lit area and was hit as the car approached from the south. Witness Wilma Edwards, a local servant, alerted authorities and led to the hospital where Livingston was identified. Police continued investigation, with Dr Smith detailing the accident. Warrants sought for two men over home invasion

John Meszaros of South Dutcher Street seeks warrants for Lincoln McCormack now of Philips Manor and Gregory Van Ness of Huntington who forced entry to Meszaros residence Monday at 6 10 pm. They allegedly threatened Meszaros and his wife and resisted police when urged to leave. An eight year old Meszaros boy was involved in a separate unrelated fight with John Black Jr. during the incident.
