Rev. Father Patrick Joseph Crotty aged 35, assistant pastor at St. Margaret’s Riverdale and coach of the school basketball team, died after a heart attack during a game against Irvington Catholic at the high school gym. He complained of chest pain near the end of the contest which the Big Five won 50 to 48. He left the gym with Rev. Father Daley and his condition worsened, leading to his death on arrival home.
