Ravekes Retiring After Five Decades of Bank Service
David R. Ravekes vice president in charge of The County Trust Company’s Dobbs Ferry office retires today after fifty five years with a single institution. He began as a clerk in 190 after high school and advanced to cashier trust officer and board secretary before becoming vice president in 1940 and later a vice president of the merged bank. A longtime Dobbs Ferry resident, he is active in community groups and serves as treasurer of the Salvation Army and auditor for the Royal Aveanum. A dinner in his honor will be held at Tappan Hall in Tarrytown with staff and County Trust officers attending. Richard J. Haug will now run the Dobbs Ferry office.

Miss Selina Disbrow Dies in Her 76th Year
Miss Selina Disbrow of Irvington died at Dobbs Ferry Hospital after a brief illness. A public health nurse for Greenburgh for 26 years, she resided at 130 East Sunnyside Lane. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Vanderbilt Funeral Home, Sarrytown, with interment in Fernclift Cemetery. she was born April 15, 1881 in Irvington and educated as a nurse at Ossining Hospital. She was active with the Church of St. Barnabas and is survived by cousins and several nieces and nephews.

Irvinton taxpayers pressed twenty grievances on grievance day before the joint Board of Trustees and Assessors in Town Hall. Only Sleepy Hollow Restorations Inc won full exemption for a parcel near Sunnyside Lane. Ethel and Blanche Cooke were granted a $320 reduction to set their Elm Park plot at $1,000. Adele Henhaw received a $4,500 cut to $1,500 for her new residence. Veterans and certain officers had full exemptions, totaling $4,380 for twenty one veterans and $500 each for two firemen. Total requested relief was $930,420 with $57,720 allowed. further relief requires a writ of error.
