Capacity audience attends the AF Women's Golf Group Ted Mack youth show promising a 1960 slate of activities. Irvington’s Ted Mack emcees an amateur show featuring winners who will perform at the All-County Amateur Show on May 18 at the County Center Waite Plains. Auditions planned for March with many local performers and donations urged to reach a $10,000 Youth Center fund.
The Soroptimist Club of Hunson Alley held its February dinner at Scappy's Restaurant in Ashford weave Dobbs Ferry. Helen Edmonds, president, welcomed new member Mrs. Margaret Johnson and announced Katherine Pavaraskof Tarrytown as first vice president and Mary W. Cramer second vice president. Edmonds was named voting delegate for the spring federation conference in New York City April 2 to 21. The march 16 dinner returns to Scappy's Restaurant.
Wa spada Indian Club of Bedford New York presented authentic dances to Tevington High School students during an assembly. The Fox Lane High School boys, part of a 35 member team, travel to New York New Jersey and Connecticut performing Indian dances. The Waconda Indian Club formed eight years ago from Boy Scouts researching lore and making their own costumes valued around 9000 dollars under art teacher Robert Queen at Fox Lane School.
The Democratic party held a meeting Friday night at the Towne Hall to renominate candidates for the village election. Hon A. Flacre and several others were discussed for roles on the ticket. The meeting, presided by Edward Slatin, named Bono Hickey and Dr Mich Slee as nominal nominees with support from former Slayer Frederick Kramer.
Del Johnson, local fund chairman, announces captains and volunteers for the Irv anguo fund drive canvassing starting March 6. Captains include Mrs Charles R Benet, Mrs A C Bickford, Donald Brown, Mrs Frederic D Carter, Mrs William J Chiu, Mrs William H Connor, Mrs William D Edson, Mrs Carl F Biv, Mrs Roswell Harriman, Mrs Harry L Haynes, Mrs Kenneth W Henshaw, Mrs Joseph Houghton, Mrs Ralph K Jacobs, Mrs Theodore F Jagger, Milton Kinne, Laurence Kun sner, Effingham Lawrence tes, William Stiller, Mrs Jack B Peix Jr, Joseph Bowen, Mrs Lawrence F Schmehl, Mrs Donald Seus, Mr Ralph S Smith, Mrs Cuyler Stevens, Otiss Frances Viceline, Mrs G Herbert Vogelson, Mrs George B Wepsala.
Albert D. Tondra, noted piano teacher and former Irvington resident, presented a local program featuring special musical selections on Wednesday February 24 at the Anna Poth Home on North Broadway. A highlight was an arrangement titled A Musical Trip Around the World in 80 Minutes.

Mrs. Robert C. Whitman presided as newly elected Irvington Branch president of AE Phelps Memorial Hospital Auxiliary at fiveview Road home. Officers and committee chairs were named, with meetings set for the Fourth Quarterly Conference of St Paul’s Methodist on Thursday at 3 PM with Dr Elmer Bostock presiding.
Irvington firemen respond to two appliance fires in one day at R E Regoyer residence on Ardiley Avenue. A washing machine blaze in the basement prompts quick suppression with ample ventilation. A separate dryer fire in the laundry area causes smoke spread. crews extinguish and clear the scene. A grass fire at the Halsey Estate on Harriman Road is also aided by volunteers.
The Arvington School Board and PTA host a March 1 meeting at 7:15 p.m. in the Dow Lane Elementary auditorium. Clayton Rose, former New York state educator leader, will explain Education Conference Board financing proposals and local effects on Arvington and neighboring districts.
A wartime style appeal stresses Red Cross service in crises with a call for March 5 and 6 weekend donations. Od Johnson as Fund Chairman asks residents to respond promptly to volunteer calls if contributions are not yet received, highlighting deliver of food and clothing to POWs and disaster relief.
Adele Warnock of North Dutcher Street will address the Harmon Community Club at their monthly meeting on Tuesday afternoon March 1 at the Harmon Firehouse at 2. Her topic is Banks in a yes on. Warnock is a member of the Speakers Bureau of the New York State Bankers Women's Committee and has spoken to county women's clubs on financial aid banking subjects. She is employed as a past analyst in the Waite Plains office of The County Trust Company.
The Holy Name Society announces its annual communion breakfast to be held Sunday May 15 in the school auditorium. Co chairmen are Fred Morabbo and Edward Murphy. The keynote speaker will be Otoph E Hogan CM executive president of St John’s University with a second speaker from the sports world to be announced later.
