Enforcement Of Ordinance Sparks Complaint Over Trash Rules

A Maitland L. Griggs of Irvington Hardware questioned village litter and refuse rules after police orders to use covered containers. He said some materials resist standard bins. Mayor Peyser ordered investigation and possible uniform enforcement. The board also discussed Woodbine Road extension, a new parking lot near Broadway and Main, and speeding up easement discussions with property owners.

Former Teacher Becomes Mother of Quadruplets in Cold Spring

Mrs Ronald Bennett Aceball formerly Helen Welch and a former Dows Lane Elementary School teacher gave birth at Butterfield Memorial Hospital Cold Spring to one boy and three girls. The babies, one month premature, are reported well. Her husband works as a hair stylist at a Peekskill beauty salon.

Meeting Of Candidates Set By LWV For March 9

The Irvington League of Women Voters invites four candidates for Village Trustee to a forum on March 9 at 8:00 p.m. in Main Street School auditorium. Incumbents Herbert MacIntosh Kevin ONeill and challengers C Bruce Scott John Arnold are expected to attend. The event is a six year community service function organized by Voter Services chaired by Mrs. David Diener with Mrs. Marvin Satz moderating.

School Board Allows Student Parking at New High School

The Board of Education approved a policy to permit 45 students to park at the new high school with parental permission and no use during school hours. Permits run for one year and can be revoked by the Student Council or Principal Donald S. Wormley. Parking barred on hazardous-driving days.

Democratic Candidates Open House Receptions Planned

The Democratic Committee announces three open house receptions for candidates Kevin ONeill and John Arnold. The first will be Friday February 25 from 8 to 10 p.m. at Democratic Headquarters at Main and Eckar Streets. District residents are urged to attend, with others welcome and no formal program. Valley Views Sought From Village Trustee Candidates

The Citizens Committee for the Hudson Valley asked four Village Trustee hopefuls John Arnold Herbert MacIntosh Kevin ONeill and Bruce Scott for their views on repealing the Hudson River Expressway and backing a master plan for Valley development. The committee opposes the expressway Beacon to Bronx or to Tarrytown and the Pocantico Spur and stresses nonpartisan civic aims.
