William J. Withers aged seventy died suddenly Tuesday morning at the Irvington home of his sister Mrs Robert Frost in Spiro. Born in New York City October 28 1860 to Frederick and Susan Rafter Withers he was a machinist by trade. Funeral services 2 pm Thursday at Bennett's Funeral Home Tarrytown with Rev Otis R Rice of St Barnabas Church officiating. Cremation at Fort Cemetery. Surviving besides his sister are a brother John Withers.

Gildon May Face Court For Escape
Leonard D. Gildon of Silverview Road escaped Westchester County Penitentiary at East View last Wednesday and was recaptured Friday at Tarrytown Heights. A request for an indictment on the escape will go to the February Grand Jury. If indicted and convicted he faces up to one year in jail and a 500 dollar fine. He had been serving a six month term for auto theft and was returning to East View to aid two other prisoners when nabbed by Greenburgh officers aided by Briarcliff.

Seventy five members of the Lord and Burnham Social and Athlete Club and guests enjoyed a long evening at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Croton on Monday. The event followed a late 6:30 start, with singing and specialty numbers by imported entertainers.
