Irvington School Bond Vote Planned for 125000

Qualified Irvington voters will cast ballots on Saturday March 24 in a social district meeting to authorize a 125000 bond issue for improvements at the Dows Lane Elementary School and for alterations at the High School on Main Street. The board estimates an 8 cent per $1,000 tax rise over ten years, with 85000 of the issue for Dows Lane and 40000 for the High School.

Irvington High Five Sen Friday Defeated by Hendrick Hilton

Irvington lost 7 to 82 as Hendrick Hilton dominated in the High School gym on North Fort. Alexander Namiton led Irvington with strong play, while Ardsleygh Sie overwhelmed the Irvngton team. The defeat marked Irvington’s seventh straight loss and left them with two wins in fourteen games.

CE Holds 63d Annual Convention

The Westchester branch of International Christian Endeavor met at Irvington Presbyterian Church with about 300 attendees for its 63d annual convention. Rev Earle W Gates urged giving the best for Christ as reports showed flourishing county youth groups and growing influence. Thirty seven Tevington Presbyterian youth fellows joined. Hilltop Club Girls Plan Gala Reunion

Church Council Aids Local Institutions Cooperation Formed

About seventy five representatives of church activity groups clergymen and community volunteers met Monday night to extend aid to Levington House Children’s Village St. Christopher’s School and Dobbs Ferry Hospital. The group from eleven member churches including Ardsley Irvington Dobbs Ferry and Hastings will carry forward a community service program under Mrs. Charles Renner director of volunteers.
