With the Thruway severing East Irvington from the town, annexation should be pursued.

Funeral Services for George A Lander in Tarrytown
Funeral services for George A Lander of 22 Church Street Tarrytown were held Saturday at Bennett Funeral Home. He died last Wednesday night in Tarrytown Hospital at eighty six. The Rev C Kenneth Ackerman of Christ Church Tarrytown officiated and interment followed at a local cemetery. He formerly ran a meat market in Irvington and spent part of his career in New York area markets. He was born on Stumer Road and is survived by his wife two daughters Eleanor Reynolds of Jot Haven Danny and others along with a brother and a sister.

Wilbur R Clarke Dies Shoveling Snow
Wilbur Rathburn Clarke a longtime Irvington resident collapsed and died last Saturday morning while shoveling snow near his River View Road home. A 79 year old former Borden Company executive, he died of a coronary. Funeral services were held at St Barnabas Church and interment followed at Unadilla Forks Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Mildred Giles Clarke and a son Theodore H. Clarke.

John Paton a Westchester Parkway patrolman living on North Coltenet street was released on $1000 bail by Justice Edward Caterson. In Mount Pleasant on Wednesday he faced a conspiracy charge tied to a Kings County grand jury indictment stemming from a battle arrests probe. Berletic of Ardsley, also a parkway patrolman, faces a similar conspiracy charge. Both officers have been suspended by the department.
