The village filed a return in Supreme Court on Monday to prevent a default judgment in the camden University tax exemption suit for Nevis estate. The village argues actual instruction of students on the property is required for exemption. without it the plea should be denied. The estate is assessed at 200000. denial would cost village about 12000 to be shared by taxpayers. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon for George Gordon Vincent longtime American Express agent in Irvington who died at his home in Tarrytown from a heart attack at age sixty four. He worked over forty years for the Express firms and would have retired next year. Burial will be in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. He lived in Tarrytown and Irvington most of his life and was active in the Hope Hose Company and local church activities. He is survived by his widow Edith Bunting Vincent two sons William and Russell and two daughters Mrs John Chamberlain and Adelaide. He was born in Stamford Conn and family roots trace to early New England settlers.

Irvington Boy Sought After Jail Escape
Irvington police issued a state wide teletype alert for Leonard Gilden seventeen of Riverview Road who escaped from the Westchester County Penitentiary at East View while on a six month sentence for thefts. He is suspected of stealing a Tepperbers car in Tarrytown on January 8 and attempting to steal another in Pittston. He aided by a younger boy under sixteen and has confessed to additional robberies including a Brown's Electric Shop typewriter theft.
