About 26 boys, ages 12 to 18, answered questions on Irvington’s origins the Greenburgh towns and nearby areas. While mapping the vicinity and distances, few could name all towns. many erred on history and governance.

Worthington Whitehouse and Worthington Farm Legacy

Worthington Whitehouse, a popular New York real estate figure and longtime Irvington resident, died February 14 at Worthington Farm in Elmsford. The Worthington family, including Mrs. Bathgate Becker and Mrs. Lanman Bull, shaped local life with land, chapels, and community service. His funeral was held in the Worthington Memorial Chapel with Bishop Shipman officiating.

Entertainment by the Hudson River Music School

Younger pupils of the Music School present a musical program next Saturday at 3:00 in the Kindergarten room of the Library Building in Dobbs Ferry. The operetta An Afternoon Tea will be sung by the children with orchestra. Afterward refreshments to be served by Mrs Albert Shaw and Mrs Franklyn Q Brown. Local residents hospital bound after illnesses and accidents

Mr. George Kraus was taken to the hospital at Dobbe Ferry Wednesday evening by ambulance. He is the second eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kraus of 54 Main Street. Edward Costello of 56 Main Street is treated for pneumonia at Dobbe Ferry. Other notices mention Mr. Robert McCarthy and a local band event with a Friday night performance.
