A thief stole groceries including vegetables and a 50 pound bag of potatoes from a taxicab owner on Taxier Road East Irvington and abandoned the car at the Tarrytown freight yard. Police searched after the owner reported parking at 175 Cortlands Street North Tarrytown at 1233 AM Sunday. A metal toolbox valued at 90 dollars also missing, along with the stolen goods valued around 180 dollars.

Mrs Mary Drury wife of Mark Drury died Saturday at her Arcadia California home after a year of illness. She was known in the village as daughter of Tate English who lived on North Cottenet Street. With under ten percent of the 1945 village tax levy unpaid, the Board of Trustees foregoes a tax sale this year. Only 133,897 dollars of 1,664,707 dollars remain due, most from properties foreclosed into Greenburgh. The meeting Monday will set plans for the village election on Tuesday March 19, with two 1944 trustees’ terms expiring.
