The Mayor's Committee on Ane ymient Weller reports strong effort to place unemployed residents. From late January to February 1, about 66 to 70 people received jobs, with 62 paid positions. The Cyrus Field road landscaping is finished using unemployment funds representing 205 days of work. Twenty two villagers are cleaning up and beautifying village property, including brook clearance, grading, and building a shelter. The project is supported by Garden Club Irvington and others, with work staggered and Ralph Mat thlexson donating a horse and plow and driver services. On February 20, a meeting with Wickes Law, Westchester County Children’s Association, and Work Bureau representatives discussed future plans.

Village of Irvington to celebrate Washington birth anniversary
The Village of Irvington plans a two pm and eight thirty pm program of patriotic movies at Town Hall on February 28 to mark George Washington's birth. Mayor Dickinson names Arthur Ward as chair with committee members including William Barton John F Teway Frank Morrell Thomas Gorey Isabel Benjamin and Henry Stanford Brooks. Children under 12 and high school students admitted at the afternoon show for 25 cents. adults pay 50 cents then and 75 cents for the evening show. The Irvington School Orchestra will assist and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will usher. Tickets go on sale with no reserved seats.
