The Irvington Board of Trustees adopted a new assessment roll totaling 28,840,254 up from 811,817 last year. The roll was filed with Village Clerk Knute W. Wistrand, with grievance day scheduled for February 17 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Taxpayers expect many complaints due to large increases, some above 100 percent, while the average rise was stated at a specific percent.
Irvington High School students showcased weeks of effort at the school science fair held Tuesday. Prizes awarded included a windunnel for David Jelly and Paul Conley in the School's top division, Ankatober for first prize in Biology, and honorable mentions for several projects in biology and imaging.
The Community Council of Courshes of Dobbs Perry Ardsley and Levington will host its annual Lenten Forum on Sunday evenings during Lent. The Fair was a huge success, with Selene Hall and the Honor Society guiding hundreds of visitors.

Mrs Kip W. Furst was honored at a tea by the Irvington United Presbyterian Church Women’s Association. Mrs Herbert Secintosh chaired the event attended by over forty members. Present were Mrs Beard Thrugersen, Mrs E Bison, and others as Howard Och presided. Mrs Willem D. son presented a farewell gift to Mrs Furst.
Irvington Youth Center sponsors The Irvington 1959 Amateur Show to raise funds for a 950 campaign. Open to all residents, two entry divisions exist with five top acts advancing to a County Amateur Show audition. Entry forms available at the Youth Center, library, and schools. deadline Feb 9. Auditions Feb 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Irvington Elementary School auditorium.
The annual Mothers Club Card Party to benefit Immaculate Conception parochial School will be held Friday night at the Town Hall Auditorium starting 6:90 p.m. Prizes and refreshments promise a lively event with games brought by participants. The event marks the club’s eleventh year of fundraising for the school.

Freezing rain turned village streets slick on Tuesday night causing three minor auto accidents in Irvington. At Main and Astor streets a car driven by Lawrence Bn of Barney Parke collided with a Bror Asp vehicle from Tarrytown. Edward Winger Jr of Tarrytown skidded on Broadway near Hartiman Road and struck a utility pole. Abb McNair of South Broadway, driving west on Cyrus Field, hit a fence near Harriman Road Reservoir. Wingert and McNair cars were badly damaged.
The Ard sley village board faces trouble over a new $10 parking permit for village owned or leased areas and a ten year lease at the Ardsley station leased from Hudson House. The old lease allowed free parking, prompting resident protest led by Marie Strachen. A referendum is urged as a fair solution amid disputes over who pays for municipal parking. Karen Flint Blaise Beau Irealt and Dianne Rudy participated in a recital by the Westchester Music Trexel lers Council in White Plains last Saturday.
