Reports from Irvington and Tarrytown detail matches between Pastime Club and Tarrytown Lyceums with the Pastime boys conquering by a wide margin. A return game is planned on the Pastime alleys soon, plus local social notes include a supper, a baby born, and various movements in residents’ lives.
Descendants of Robert Burns gathered at the Town Hall on Friday evening to mark the poet’s anniversary. A large audience enjoyed a program of songs, readings, and Scottish dances, with performances by Sandy Louden and local amateurs. The event, organized by Alexand Maitland and John Mon Foo, featured music from pipe bands, a Highland Fling, and various vocal and chorus numbers.
The first series of four bowling match games between the local club and the Young Men's Lyceum of Tarrytown was held at the local alleys on Tuesday evening. After four games the score favored the local boys by 291. The second series is set for February 15 at the Tarrytown alleys with the first teams meeting. Strong interest from members and friends and many rooters from Tarrytown and the village attended.
