Mrs Goata Lowander president of the Dobbs Ferry Women s Club announces the Fifteenth Annual Art Exhibit at the Clo House 54 Clinton Avenue on March 1 and 2 from 230 to 500 PM and 720 to 900 PM. Entry is open to local artists with one original work created in the past two years. A 1 entry fee is charged and works must be ready for hanging sizing 35 by 45 inches.

Commander Robert G. Watson, Civilian Engineering Corps USNR, received commendations from the Navy Secretary and Chief of Naval Operations for leading Naval Reserve Construction Battalion Division 3-17 Whitestone New York to top district and national standings in 1960. The division of five offices and 40 enlisted men placed third among 25 Seabee divisions nationwide and first in the Third Naval District. The Navy praised Watson's leadership, devotion to duty, and professional competence as he now commands Naval Reserve Construction Battalion Division 3-12 at the New Rochelle training center.
The Mothers Club of Immaculate Conception Church Irvington presents a February 10 fashion show of luxurious furs to benefit the parochial school. Donald Brown chairs the event with Projan sky's of White Plains supplying furs. Models include Mrs. Frank Dotolo Mrs. Charles Linn Mrs. Carlos Caporal and Mrs Reynolds Gheduzi. Refreshments at 1 pm precede fur displays and evening cards with prizes and awards. Tickets from Mrs. George Billen and Mrs Alvin Schalis.
Greenburgh Town Board voted to protest the proposed closing of the Ardsley-on-Hudson railroad station. Supervisor Vetrano directed town attorney Perseton to attend the Public Service Commission meeting in New York City and to coordinate with Irvington to bolster the protest. The board noted many commuters from Ardsley Park, Irvington, and nearby unincorporated areas use the station daily.
Community members participate in a March of Dimes coin collection across the village as George Nilsson and volunteers urge contributions to the drive amid a Saturday event. Families and local groups join in the fundraising effort to support the foundation’s health programs.
