The notes review last week’s Hastings events including a school dance in place of an film, girls and boys basketball wins over Washington Irving High and Riverdale, and a busy term with exams, promotions, and upcoming prize speaking rehearsals.
The 1928 reception of Diamond Lodge No. 585 of Dobbs Ferry will be in Town Hall on Thursday evening April 12. The lodge has a large membership and secured chart music, with a strong committee, promising the best event in years with a capacity crowd. A young colored couple seeks a position with good references, W. Alexander, 84 Cedar St, Tarrytown, N.Y.
The Triangles lost 32 to 81 at American Hall on Saturday January 27 under first time professional rules in the area. Stuchbury led Irvington and M Sweetman Morrell Fallon and J Sweetman aided, as the locals battled from a 25 point halftime deficit. a late chance to tie was foiled by a foul. The Triangles host Y M C A Big Five February 3 in a series opener at 8 30, with St Peter Club of New Brighton to visit February 17.

The annual Euchre party at the Immaculate Conception Parish Town Hall draws widespread turnout next Wednesday February 7 with an opening of doors and a full hall. A fine orchestra, refreshments supervised by capable hands, and dancing follow the card play as residents from across the county join in the social event and support local merchants.

Seventy five or more members of the old time A L F club will join a reunion Saturday evening February 24 at the Irvington Pastime Club. Duncan W. Smith heads the planning with a capable committee promising big doings.
Rev Morgan P No addressed Asheville School in North Carolina as part of a Womens Missionary Society program. A local Girl Scout Troop held a meeting in the Wilde House. Mr and Mrs Earle List welcomed a baby girl born Sunday morning. Fire alarms at two residences caused minor damage from coal fires. The Womens Club meets at Zion Park House. Donald MacKen attended a Westchester league meeting to settle a Hastings dispute. Boys basketball beat Ardsley 44 13. Girls basketball defeated Ossining 22 24. Kendall joins the high school faculty. The Italian Society works on pins to fund a new church for Italian women and men.
The Scouts held their meeting Monday evening January 29 in the Irvington Gymnasium. Reginald Farrer and Even Duzean drilled the troop for three quarters of an hour with good results. The next meeting will be Tuesday February 6. Scout John Murphy is ill at his home in East Irvington for the past three weeks. A trip to New York by the whole troop is being planned sometime during the next month for visits to places of historical interest. Scouts should prepare themselves for coaching during the coming spring. Patrol Leaders should take more interest in their patrols in competing for the Patrol prize.
The next social dance at Philip McGovern Post No 345 American Legion will be held on the third Tuesday of this month. A large attendance is expected and dues should be paid if not already sent. The weekly Legion journal will be mailed for 1923. If you cannot attend, send in dues to support sick and disabled World War veterans in hospitals nationwide.
The Catholic Club played a thrilling game against Ossining Solumbien Community on the American Legion court last Monday. Despite leading 19 48 at halftime and a late fight, Ossining won by one point as the CC shooters failed on a late foul shot. next Monday they face Peekskill Caseye with bus service from Town Hall.
A Hindalty organized event by the Hippodrome committee is set for Saturday February 10 to fund the St Barnabas Church choir boys. The affair is one of several annual outings arranged by the B J Whitehouse Fun club.
The Women’s Club staged Daddy-Long-Loes on Friday night in Dob, hailed as a top show of the season. The house was packed and the audience showed strong approval for the production.
