Local News From Irvington Area Highlights Visitors and Events

A baby girl arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Elder Jr amid a Monday accident scene. Visitors included Fred Fordham of New York and Albert Raban of Port Chester. The Tewksbury School closes for holidays and reopens in January. many townsfolk travel, visit, or host events. A large turkey supper at Schneider Hotel drew crowds. schools shut for holidays. Dr Daniel Russell ill. Washington Irving Camp elected new officers with installations planned. A Christmas program at the Methodist Church impressed many. attendance targets set for the coming weeks.

Glad Hand Club Initiates Two Members At Abbottsford Meet

The Glad Hand Club held its annual meeting Saturday in the HIM Assembly Hall and initiated two new members S Lennon of the Mills estate and Edward Lynch, superintendent for JH McCullough. A valuable dog owned by a citizen was killed by a fast running auto Monday.

Obituary for James McLoughlin of Hastings on Hudson

James McLoughlin, a former village resident, died at his Hastings on Hudson home after a two year illness. He was 65. He helped organize the Fire Association and The Workingmen's Benevolent Association. A wife and two children survive. Funeral held Tuesday morning with interment in Sleepy Hollow.

Demise of James J. Broderick After Illness at 35

James J. Broderick, former resident of Presbyterian Hospital New York City, died yesterday from acute appendicitis at age 35. He was well regarded, with many friends, and a member of the local Foresters and Knights of Columbus. His body was brought to the Gould estate, and a wife and six children mourn his loss. The funeral is set for tomorrow at Immaculate Conception Church at ten o'clock, with interment to follow.

East Irvington Doings Report Holiday Visits

Michael Blanche spent Christmas with his parents on Mt Road New York City. Hope Chapel had no Sunday service. A large party hosted by Miss M Mulligan on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Herbert King entertained friends Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Peter Jordan of Elmsford visited Mr Jordan's parents. Miss Suster of St Lawrence NY spent Christmas with Mr and Mrs Alex Bird. Hugh Morissey the boy twirler spent Christmas with his parents. David Jones of Westchester moved into his father's Mountain Avenue home. Owenses celebrated Christmas with their son in Brooklyn. A Raffo visited his parents in York City on Monday. Tracy couple left for Rochester last week and plan to return late February. Thomas Diveny of Glen Cove spent Christmas with grandmother Mrs Thos Diveny. Louis Berky of Tow spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Alex Anderson. Robert Doran spent Sunday with friends at Tuckahoe. Irvington contractors working on Hope Chapel. A new fuse race to be installed. Mrs Albert Allen of Glenwood spent Christmas Day with Mr and Mrs N J Leonard. Mr and Mrs J Mulligan hosted Miss J Hegans of New York City on Monday. Miss M Miller a school staff member is holidaying with her parents at Highland Falls.

Tingley-McCracken Marriage At Whitings Home

In Irvington the wedding of Annie Galluy McCracken and Judge George W. Tingley took place at Mr. Edgar P. Whiting's home in Mystic. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. M. Turrentine. Afterward a surprise appearance by the bride and groom preceded a reception and buffet lunch. The couple planned residence in Mystic with a home after January 10, and both bring notable local ties and public service to their families.

Town Auditors Notice Greenburgh Claims Deadline

Will of Marcus D. Raymond Grandchildren Big Bequests

The will of the late Marcus D. Raymond probate in Tarrytown leaves all property to executors widow Bertha Raymond and daughter Mrs Joseph E. Lee and Henry C. Griffen in trust. Bertha receives an annual $1,800 as widow’s annuity while Mrs See gets the remainder of income and residuary estate after her death. Specific bequests include Joseph B. See $2,500. grandchildren Raymond Gardiner See Mabel Elnora See Henrietta Iona See each $5,000. great grandchildren Raymond Gardiner See Ji and Virginia Marie See $1,000 each. Mrs Lillian Reynolds $5,000. her daughters Ethel and Evelyn $1,000 each. Hertha Raymond died a week before Mr Raymond, so bequests operative immediately.
