The Get Together Club marked its 17th anniversary with a large turnout on Tuesday December 18. Club presidents chaired the meeting with remarks from senior members William Angus Fred Briggs and others. Mr and Mrs Lee O'Dell of Glenville are receiving congratulations on the arrival of a son born at their home on Thursday December 20. Mother and baby are doing well. Mrs O'Dell was formerly Miss Margaret O'Keefe of East Irvington.
A daughter was born at the couple's home on Friday December 21 the fifth child for the well known pair Mr Schneider formerly of Irvington.
In Dobbs Ferry hospital the Christmas Day celebration featured a decorated tree and baskets of candles for patients. Superintendent Mr Cameron and staff earned praise for their cooperation in making the day special for those remaining in the hospital.
The Irvington and Tarrytown areas held a Chamber of Commerce popularity contest at Music Hall Theatre. Prizes ranged from 500 to 25 dollars, with 1,112,510 votes cast for 65 participating merchants and groups. Winners included Riverside Hose Company in Tarrytown and Sunnyside Circle in Irvington, amid notes on boosting local trade.
The Irvington village launches a welcome sign at the entrance between Dobbs Ferry and Irvington. Mrs Blake sells Shadowbrook property as she plans to relocate to Bar Harbor Maine in June. She will remain in the community with her children until they move to their future home.
