Practice Cruise The Atlantic Fleet Sets Sail for Pacific
A historic December departure from Hampton Roads will send Rear Admiral Evans's flagship Connecticut and 16 battleships, cruisers, and support ships on a 13 000 mile voyage to the Pacific. The armada totals about 223 826 tons with some 13 000 personnel aided by coal reserves, collier flotillas, and supplies for 3 to 4 months at sea.
