Dr Joseph H Beattie Dies While At Sea on Mauretania
Dr Joseph H Beattie a longtime Dobbs Ferry physician and bank president died of a heart ailment aboard the Mauretania en route to Europe for a five week vacation. He would have been 74 in September and his body will return to the United States for funeral arrangements. He had practiced in Dobbs Ferry since 1904, graduated in 1902, and held numerous medical and military posts including major in the AEF. He was a member of several medical and veterans organizations.

Irvington police recovered a stolen 214 foot motorboat named Alma Bee last weekend after it was stripped of its outboard motor and found at Mathieson Park.

Sgt Fallon Breaks Leg Surfing at Jones Beach
Sgt Roger Fallon of the Kington Police Department fractured his right fibula in heavy sand at Jones Beach while bathing. He required ambulance aid and was taken to a medical station and Dobbs Ferry Hospital for X rays. Doctors found a double fracture below the knee and he is expected to be off duty until at least October 1.
