Local School Boy Proves Expert On Typewriter
Thurber H Bierce earned a proficiency certificate from Underwood Typewriter Company for typing 45 words a minute for ten minutes on an Underwood machine in Irvington. The town shows patriotism with Old Glory as schools close for Easter vacation. Fred Elder of Boston attended a Lord & Burnham meeting, while a Ford delivery car awaits repairs at Abercrombie & Dutch garage. A forest fire near East Irvington was quickly controlled by local volunteers. Victor Clearwater visited from Lake Mohonk with Mrs. Clearwater’s parents in East Sunnyside Lane.

Woman's Club Red Cross Day at the Club
Members of the Woman's Club observed a Red Cross day at Pariah House on April 3. No Red Cross work was done, but shirts jamas and bandages were distributed and much was accomplished. Meetings follow on April 10 and April 17 with officers and guests listed.
