Miss Sophie Holder Dies After Short Illness in Irvington

Miss Sophie Holder of 8 South E street Irvington dies at Tarrytown Hospital after six weeks of illness that began with influenza and erysipelas. Born March 12 1865 in New York City, she moved to Irvington as a child and was beloved local figure known as Aunt Sophie. Survived by siblings and many nieces and nephews, she served as Sunnyside Circle treasurer and was active in Republican circles and St Barnabas Church. Funeral at St Barnabas Church Sunday at 3 PM with Rev Charing E Karsten officiating. interment at Saint Cemetery.
