Global Village Festival builds from modest start to large weekend event
The Global Village Festival aims to draw about 25 000 attendees this weekend at Bill Barber Park, building on the 1998 Lakeview Senior Center kickoff with 800 participants. City Services estimates 40 merchants, 50 restaurants, over 113 performances, 45 exhibits and 24 world religions will be featured.

The 13th annual Global Village Festival runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Bill Barber Park 4 Civic Center Plaza. The event is free with no public parking. Satellite parking will be at Woodbridge area including Mike Ward Community Park with shuttle service from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
