A mother of autistic children produces videos showing phonics based approaches to teach language reading and vocational skills. Her content targets families and educators seeking practical strategies to support disabled learners.
Balboa Island resident Laura Kasbar created Gemilini to aid autistic children. Heather O'Shea of Comprehensive Educational Services Irvine says the videos focus on targeted learning, reducing distractions, and can accelerate progress. Max Kasbar, once nonverbal at three with autism, inspired the project alongside his twin Ana.
Gemlini is free for schools and learning centers that teach groups. Individuals pay 98 dollars per month, with reduced-fee options for financial hardship and 10 dollars for those on public assistance. More information at Gemllini.org.
Irvine Valley College held a Sept 11 observance ringing a bell four times to honor the 2001 attacks. Participating agencies included the Orange County Sheriff’s Department the Orange County Fire Authority the American Red Cross and the Irvine Police Department. Spokeswoman Diane.
