4 H members from Iron and Gogebic counties tied for county honors at the Chatham round-up winning five first places and trips to Detroit. The trips will occur the first week of September with U P representatives competing in the state contest at the state fair. Iron and Gogebic led with five winners each. Alger, Schoolcraft and Chippewa had three apiece. Dickinson two. Delta and Marquette one each. Winners include Orlo Carlson, Hugo Kivi, Taimie Witto, Oliver Peltonen, and Hivia Salo in categories such as dairy judging, earning judging, health, and styla review.
One thousand young men aged 18 to 28 will labor ten months in ten forestry camps across the Upper Peninsula. The program, run with the federal relief administration and Michigan agencies, provides training in timber estimation land subdivision and game management with four hours of work daily.
Barbers of Ironwood and Hurley held a joint meeting to set a new pay scale. Haircuts rise to 50 cents, shaves to 26 cents, with a 10 cent cut for children under twelve. Crossing precincts adopt the same schedule, previously 25 cent haircuts and variable shave fees.
Ironwood residents with constitutional electors qualifications are urged by City Clerk Leo Adriangen to visit City Hall to enter their names in the ward registration book. Registrations will be accepted on all usual business days through Saturday September 1, the last day for registrations, notices advertise the general primary on September 11.

Delegates to the county convention will be elected as precincts are entitled under party calls.
J Murray Riddell a long time mining figure in Iron River district has been named manager of mines for the Corrigan McKinney Steel company. Offices will be in Cleveland and the company operates iron mines on Gogebic Mesabi and Menominee ranges plus coal mines in Pennsylvania and Kentucky with other properties in Mexico. Donald B Gillies president announced the appointment. Riddell trained at Michigan College of Mines and has worked with Wickwire Company Oglebay Norton and served as a mining consultant in Russia before returning to the United States and joining Corrigan McKinney's Cleveland offices.
Congressman C W Henney appealed to the U S attorney general on behalf of Mrs Izelda Boisoneau of Mannowitz to aid Eugene Boigoneau 26 a CCC camp worker killed during the Little Bohemia raid. Federal officer's bullet was implicated in the death, leaving a widowed mother and sole provider seeking relief.
Gogebie county faces state highway rules restricting political signs within highway rights of way. County must notify candidates to remove placards tacked to trees and poles. if not removed, maintenance crews will remove them. State policy cites lack of clear responsibility within incorporated cities and villages pending legal clarification.
