Upper Peninsula State Fair adds two days of running races
The Upper Peninsula State Fair Board announces two days of running races directed by John F Nicol mayor of Sparta Wisconsin to be held Friday and Saturday August 26 and 27 1932. Admissions reduced to 25 cents from 60 cents while exhibits and entertainment remain unchanged. Park facilities and educational exhibits planned with daily finales of firework displays. Attendance urged for the event August 22 27 1932.

Miner Killed At Ashland Mine In 1892
In 1892 Mike Mateson, a 29 year old miner at the Ashland No 7 shaft, fell 70 feet from Hawii level while exiting and died. The coroner's jury ruled death at the hand of an accident during abstraction. The Curry Rifles head to Island Lake for camp on Tuesday. Ore shipments through the port this year exceed 1890 records, totaling 1,230,523 tons by Tuesday night. The Norrie and Aurora mines lead recent tonnages with 240,624 and 178,014 tons respectively.
