Messrs Huibregtse threshed their winter wheat crop recently. They produced 190 bushels from 6 1/3 acres at 30 bushels per acre. At 65 cents per bushel the proceeds per acre reach $19.50. Farmers & Merchants Bank promotes safety deposit boxes.

Two Men Drowned Near Alton Believed At Whirlpool
Alton Sept 25 two youths Nick Jonas and Nick Haster are believed drowned in the Floyd River after swimming from Jonas barn rear. Clothes found on the riverbank and tracks along the bank support the drowning theory near a whirlpool. Bodies not recovered by noon. Haster from Dakota City visited Peter Streff at Jonas home.
